Does anyone know if PES 2013 on PC will be available for download direct from Konami this year?
The "pre-order" button on http://www.konami-pes2013.com/en/buy-now only directs you to Game for the Windows version (with a Manu steelbox -- urrghh).
I think I can do without that!

Wait for it to come on Onlive (which will take a while) or get it from Steam, as a direct download.

Pro Evo game never appeared on Steam in the past. Don't think this year will be different, there's no mention or ad about PES on Steam. Last year i bought 2012 in digital form from the official PES 2012 site which redirected to gamesplanet. But gamesplanet use UK pound as currency, folks outside of UK might find it little bit expensive.

My main aim was to get my hands on it asap on launch.
I bought it on console last year first, before buying it on PC as a download a bit later. I seem to remember that the download could be pre-ordered and the game downloaded very early on release day (although I didn't take advantage of that ).
I can't see that option this year, although it may come later. Or perhaps I've just got it wrong!
