pelluk's mole has leaked some more information regarding licenses and more importantly a demo date

Mole has informed me that the latest edition of the game includes a separate fully licensed Champions League mode including Arsenal, Chelsea, United & Liverpool. He has not confirmed whether or not the licensed teams can be used outside of this mode, but neither has he said they can't.

Unfortunately on a less bright note, it would appear a lot of clubs aren't fully licensed, particularly in the Spanish league. Atletico Madrid being the one mentioned along with a few others that you would normally expect to be.

The demo will be on marketplace on the 11th September, same day as FIFA 09

Speaking to Konami this morning it seems not all the above information is entirely true.

A release date for the demo still hasn't been confirmed but it is likely to be released onto Marketplace and PSN 3 weeks before the game hits the stores. Regarding the 'build' version, it will probably be the same as the Leipzig demo which received a negative reception on the forums despite players at the PES Rankings finale seemingly happy with it.

The demo should feature several licensed club and international teams, different to the teams on offer at Leipzig , which you can use in a 5 minute exhibition match with up to 4 players on the 360 and PC, with 7 players possible on the PS3.

Did they change the release date? I have it more like 8 weeks before the game comes out....

apparantly full edit mode is back and you can make any team like they should be, also brings back the fun, i loved editing and gives you a lot more playability IMO

How does putting an inferior demo mean fifa are thretening to take over with a better game .

The key is that it is a DEMO and will only be 70% of the finished game. Yes it maybe a school boy error to release the inferior demo and people maybe put off, but you cant make a comparison untill the full game is released and to say fifa is thretening to take over a better game when theirs will be 100% and pes's (rightly or wrongly) will be 70% finished is complete is illogical.

It's common sense really. You show potential customers your best product. I really doubt this 70% thing but surely you can see that IF there is some improved version kicking about then this is what should be released as a demo.

Someone plays a crap PES demo then on the same day plays a great FIFA demo, it's only natural to want to buy FIFA, regardless of how "complete" either demo may be.

im sure they wudnt lie about the lepzieg one being 70% finished. yes they should release the end article and is school boy error as mentioned. My fear is that they are still improving it now with so little time before release

It's like test driving a Ferrari, and them limiting the engine to 50MPH.

In the world of business, it is extremely stupid to put forward a demo 3 weeks before the release of a game, that doesn't do the latest build justice (The Boss's words) when a product that is competing alongside it is doing it's upmost to overhaul it.
