Joseph Kony is a Ugandan guerilla group leader, head of the LRA, a group engaged into abducting and forcing a total of 66,000 children to fight for them. They just give the children guns, and tell them to kill.
There is a film, 'KONY 2012', which is basically a campaign by the Invisible Children group, aiming to make Joseph Kony famous. Not to celebrate his crimes, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent (an act) for international justice. This video will explain much, much more.
Even though I did 'copy and paste' some of this, I am at least trying to help spread the word, and so can you (make sure you watch the video before reading the bottom).
There are three different things you can do NOW:
1. Sign the pledge to show your support - http://www.kony2012.com/ (you may have to refresh this a couple of times, but this is because it is getting overloaded. People actually care now.
2. Get the bracelet and the action kit at their website.
3. Sign up for TRI to donate a few dollars/pounds a month, and join the army for peace.
Maybe this is a bit of a hassle, but one thing that is free, and only takes one click, is to like their Twitter/Facebook, (along with the video) and share as well as favourite their video.
This whole project ends on 31st December, 2012. Spread the word before its too late.
